BJP in Assam Prepares Candidates List for Lok Sabha Polls

Guwahati, 29th February: In preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, the BJP in Assam has finalized a list of candidates. Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma announced this development while speaking to the media in Guwahati today. He revealed that a discussion on the candidates will take place in New Delhi later in the day.

The BJP is set to contest 11 out of the 14 seats in Assam, leaving two seats for its allies. The Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) will field candidates in Barpeta and Dhubri, while the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) will contest the seat in Kokrajhar. This strategic allocation of seats reflects the coalition dynamics within the ruling alliance in Assam.
