BJP Leader Santanu Puzari’s Name Emerges in Cash-for-Job Scam Linked to Indrani Tahbildar Case
Guwahati, 26th August: In a significant development related to the case of BJP Kisan Morcha Secretary Indrani Tahbildar’s death, the name of BJP leader Santanu Puzari has surfaced in connection with a cash-for-job scam and the circulation of intimate pictures of Anurag Chaliha and Indrani on social media platforms.
Accused Diban Deka and Anurag Chaliha mentioned Santanu Puzari’s name during a recent police interrogation. Santanu, who is also the chairman of Assam Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (AIIDC) and vice chairman of Assam Football Association, was allegedly involved in collecting money from job aspirants by promising them government jobs.
It has been revealed that Santanu Puzari was in Jorhat with Diban and Anurag just two days before Indrani’s tragic suicide. Diban Deka subsequently sent the intimate images of Indrani and Anurag to Santanu Puzari.
During the investigation, around 50 admit cards were recovered from Anurag’s residence, while 40 admit cards were found at the residence of Aseem Chakraborty, who has since passed away. This has led to the compilation of a list of candidates who were allegedly duped in the name of jobs. The list encompasses individuals from Jorhat, Nalbari district, and even Guwahati.
Around 25 candidates from Nalbari district have provided testimonies to the police, shedding light on the extent of the cash-for-job scam.
