BJP National Prez JP Nadda Lands In Guwahati
Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and other party leaders and workers gave Jagat Prakash Nadda a warm welcome when he landed in Guwahati on Monday.
Nadda arrived directly from Agartala on a special flight.
Among those in attendance to welcome Nadda were the state BJP leader Bhabesh Kalita, Palasbari MLA Hemanga Thakuria, MP Dilip Saikia, and cabinet minister Ashok Singhal.
Additionally, the Guwahati airport had strict security measures in place when the BJP national president arrived.
A dancing group has been organised to give the Bihu dance to Nadda as part of his greeting.
Nadda is scheduled to visit the Kamakhya temple in the city at around 4.30 pm, from where, he will head to the newly constructed North East BJP office ‘Padma Bhawan’ in the Uzanbazar area.
In addition to addressing the crowd, he will inaugurate the office in front of three ministers from the Union. In that regard, Union law minister Kiren Rijiju has arrived in Guwahati.
He will be accompanied by ministers Pratima Bhowmik and Rameswar Teli.
The next stop on the BJP national president’s itinerary is Machkhowa’s ITA Center.
According to reports, Nadda will attend a crucial meeting there as part of his final task for the day.
Furthermore, the chief ministers of four northeastern states will be attending the meeting. They include Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu, Manipur CM N Biren Singh, Tripura CM Manik Saha, apart from Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma.
