BJP Pledges ‘Full Seriousness’ and Inclusivity for Upcoming BTR Polls
Guwahati: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Assam is gearing up to contest the upcoming Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) elections with “full seriousness and deep respect,” as stated by state minister Pijush Hazarika. The party aims for an inclusive campaign, working hand-in-hand with regional parties, local leaders, and the common people of Bodoland to propel development.
Speaking to reporters, Hazarika emphasised the BJP’s commitment to respecting all stakeholders in the region. He reiterated the party’s resolve to “take everyone along” and move forward with the “blessings of the people.” This inclusive approach is central to their strategy for the impending polls.
Further solidifying their pre-election preparations, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is slated to visit Udalguri on July 3. This visit is expected to significantly bolster the BJP’s outreach and organisational efforts in the area, signaling the party’s intent to strengthen its ground-level presence.
When questioned about the specific number of constituencies the BJP plans to contest, Hazarika indicated that a final decision would be reached soon, following thorough internal consultations within the party. The BJP’s proactive stance highlights their ambition to make a strong impact in the BTR elections.
