BJP promises ‘One Nation One Election, UCC’ in the party manifesto ‘Sankalp Patra’

Guwahati, 14th April: Prime Minister Narendra Modi revealed the Bharatiya Janata Party’s manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on April 14. Titled ‘Modi’s Guarantee 2024’ or ‘Sankalp Patra’, the manifesto places significant emphasis on empowering women, uplifting youth, and supporting the poor.

Outlined in the manifesto is the GYAN initiative, focusing on schemes for the ‘Gareeb’ (poor), ‘Yuva’ (youth), ‘Annadaata’ (farmers), and ‘Nari’ (women). Additionally, it aims to bolster India’s prosperity, strengthen international relations, and promote the preservation of the country’s heritage, among other objectives.

Following the manifesto’s release, PM Modi asserted that the BJP’s ‘Sankalp Patra’ reinforces ‘all the four strong pillars of developed India – youth, women, poor, and farmers’.

Key promises in the BJP’s election manifesto include the implementation of ‘One Nation One Election’ and a single electoral roll. Moreover, the manifesto pledges to elevate more women to become Lakhpati Didis and to provide zero electricity bills through the PM Surya Ghar Yojana.

The BJP’s manifesto also commits to extending the benefits of the Ayushman Bharat Yojana to senior citizens above 70 and the transgender community. It promises to continue free ration under the PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana for the next five years.

Other notable commitments include the construction of 3 crore houses, ensuring affordable pipeline gas for all households, and providing free electricity to poor households through the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.

Additionally, the manifesto pledges to enforce the Uniform Civil Code, increase MSP for crops, and launch initiatives like the Krishi Infrastructure Mission and Bharat Krishi satellite.

The BJP manifesto envisions making India the third-largest economic power in the world, building on its current status as the fifth-largest economy.
