BJP releases list of 25 seats for KAAC Elections, one pending
Guwahati: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday announced a list of 26 candidates for the upcoming Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council Election (KAAC) 2022.
The elections are scheduled to be held on June 8.
Elections will be held in all 26 council constituencies of Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong district.
The polling will be held from 7.30 am to 4.30 pm on June 8, while repoll, if any, will be held two days later on June 10.
However, the counting of votes will take place on June 12.

The party’s state chief, Bhabesh Kalita announced the candidate list at 1 am Friday night in the presence of Chief Executive Member (CEM) Tuliram Ronghang.
Out of the 26, one candidate is yet to be announced by BJP.
However, no candidates for the Howraghat constituency have been announced by the party.
The candidate list was announced after a meeting that lasted until 12 am on Saturday at the residence of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Bhabesh Kalita said that the candidate for Howraghat would most likely be announced in the morning.
CEM Tuliram Ronghang informed that the name for the Howraghat seat was not released since the candidate could not attend the meeting.
It may be mentioned that the candidates and supporters rejoiced after the list was announced at the party headquarters in Guwahati.
