BJP releases manifesto for Gujarat polls: 20 lakh jobs, anti-radicalisation cell
Guwahati: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), led by JP Nadda Gujarat’s chief minister Bhupendra Patel and the state’s top BJP official CR Paatil released its manifesto for the Gujarat Assembly elections on Saturday.
The party has made a number of promises where it hopes to win again including creating an anti-radicalization cell and offering 20 lakh job opportunities to young people over the course of the next five years.
Speaking at the launch event, BJP President JP Nadda said, “We will create an anti-radicalisation cell to identify and eliminate potential threats, and sleeper cells of the terrorist organisations and anti-India forces. We will ensure the complete implementation of the Gujarat Uniform Civil Code Committee’s recommendation.”
He added, “We will also make a law pertaining to damages to public property. The law will be regarding recovery from anti-social elements that damage public property and attack private property. For the progress of Gujarat, we will make Gujarat’s economy equal to that of a 1 trillion economy by making the state a foreign direct investment destination.”
JP Nadda announced some of the key promises in the BJP’s manifesto:
– Rs 10,000 crore for farmer infrastructure
-Create anti-Radicalisation cell to identify and eliminate potential threats
– 20 lakh employment opportunities for the youth of Gujarat in the next 5 years
-1 lakh government jobs for women in the next 5 years
-Free bus travel for female senior citizens in Gujarat
– Free-of-cost, quality education to all female students from KG to PG
-Make Gujarat a $1 trillion economy
– Rs 25,000 crore for irrigation facilities
– Two seafood parks in South Gujarat and Saurashtra
– First blue economy industrial corridor
– Keen focus on fishing infrastructure
-Free Mukhyamantri Free Diagnostic Scheme with a corpus of Rs 110 crore
-First-of-its-kind Parikrama Path of 3,000 km encircling the whole state
-Build Devbhumi Dwarka Corridor to establish Guj as western India’s biggest spiritual centre
-Invest Rs 1,000 crore to renovate, expand and promote temples
Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel said, “Today we are happy to release our Sankalp Patra. Over two decades, BJP has received love of people. It’s not just hollow promises but our commitment for the development road map set by PM Modi.We commit only which we can deliver. We assure people that we will take their suggestions very seriously and ensure deliver.”
