BJP Unveils Sikkim Election Manifesto, Vows to Prioritize Education and Rights Protection
Northeast Desk, 12th April: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released its election manifesto for Sikkim, pledging to safeguard the rights of the Sikkimese people and transform the Himalayan state into an educational hub if victorious in the Assembly elections.
During the manifesto release event, BJP president J P Nadda, accompanied by party leaders including BJP Sikkim incharge Dilip Jaiswal and state president DR Thapa, emphasized the need for Sikkim to integrate into the national mainstream and bid farewell to regional parties and associated corruption.
Nadda reiterated the BJP’s vision for a people-centric, progressive, and development-oriented government in Sikkim, aiming to ensure every citizen benefits from government schemes and policies, emphasizing the need for clean governance and direct development initiatives.
The BJP, contesting in 14 out of 32 Assembly seats in Sikkim, outlined its commitment to protecting the rights of the Sikkimese people, addressing the Limbu-Tamang seat reservation demand, and advocating for tribal status for 12 left-out communities.
Furthermore, the party pledged to advocate for the inclusion of Bhutia, Lepcha, and Limbu languages in the Eight Schedule of the Indian constitution and prioritize the development of education by establishing the Sikkim State Board of Education and promoting the state as an educational hub, integrating its rich history and heritage into the school curriculum.
