Guwahati: At least two BJP workers in Manipur have been allegedly shot dead in election-bound Manipur. The incident is suspected to be pre-poll violence in the state.
The two deceased were identified as Abujam John and Abujam Tomba.
The incident took place at Samurou in Imphal West district of Manipur late on Sunday night
According to reports, both the deceased were close to Manipur agriculture minister O Lukhoi.
The 59-year -old Abujam John died on spot and Abujam Tomba succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh visited the family members of the victims.
Legal action has been taken and further investigation is underway.
