BJP’s Inclusive Strategy Without Appeasement Drives Electoral Wins, Says Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday credited the BJP’s focus on inclusivity, coupled with its refusal to adopt appeasement policies, for the party’s growing success in minority-dominated constituencies.

Speaking at a press conference, Sarma highlighted the party’s recent by-election victory in the Samaguri assembly seat and its earlier triumph in the Karimganj Lok Sabha constituency in June as milestones reflecting this approach.

“Our strategy emphasizes minority outreach under the guiding principle of ‘appeasement to none, justice to all.’ This resonates with our broader motto, sabka saath, sabka vikas (unity and development for all),” Sarma remarked.

The Chief Minister stressed that these wins demonstrate the BJP’s ability to foster trust across diverse communities without resorting to divisive or preferential policies. Sarma also announced that the BJP has developed a comprehensive roadmap targeting minority-majority constituencies for the 2026 Assam assembly elections, aiming to extend its influence while maintaining its principles of equitable governance.

The BJP’s success in such constituencies, traditionally seen as challenging for the party, underscores a shift in its political engagement strategy in Assam. With a focus on development and justice, the party is poised to strengthen its foothold across the state’s varied demographic landscape.
