Guwahati: Six people including a government official reported when missing after their boat capsized in the Brahmaputra River in Assam on Thursday.
The incident reportedly took place close to Dhubri in Assam. A boat carrying passengers lost control and overturned in the river on the swift currents.
As many as six people are currently missing including a circle officer. A state disaster reaction force (SDRF) team arrived on the scene as soon as the incident happened.
Meanwhile, rescue operations have been launched and two people were rescued by the SDRF team.
According to additional reports, the circle officer was travelling with a group of government workers to a site check when the boat capsized.
