Bodies of Two Men, Including Govt Engineer, Recovered from Stream in Sikkim’s Soreng District

Gangtok: In a grim discovery that has left the local community in shock, the bodies of two men were recovered from a stream near the Rothok Khola bridge in Sikkim’s Soreng district on Thursday morning. One of the deceased has been identified as Roshan Chhetri, a junior engineer with the Sikkim education department, while the other has been identified as Vikas Dhamala.

The recovery followed a tip-off from residents of the Khadkabazar area, prompting a swift response from local police, who launched a search operation in the vicinity of the stream. Both bodies were retrieved and taken for post-mortem examinations before being released to their respective families.

While the cause of death remains uncertain, authorities have not ruled out foul play. The circumstances surrounding the deaths are still unclear, and Soreng police have initiated a detailed investigation to determine the events that led to the tragic incident. The case has sparked concern and speculation locally, as residents await further updates from the ongoing probe.
