Guwahati: A tragic incident has cast a shadow of gloom in Sonitpur district of Assam where a dead body of a 1-year-old boy was recovered on his birthday.
The incident took place in Kokila area of Gohpur town.
The dead body of the child was found by the locals lying in the midst of a paddy field.
The deceased has been identified as Paragjyoti Bordoloi.
Upon receiving the news, the mother rushed to the field and sobbed when she saw her child’s body.
Notably, a bicycle and a shopping bag were also found next to the victim.
According to reports, the boy’s father had gone out to do birthday shopping for his son and also took his son along with him on a cycle.
Hours after stepping out of the house for shopping when Sachin Bordoloi (father of the dead minor boy) didn’t return back, the mother of the child, Jonmoni Bordoloi reached out to the villagers to help find her son and husband.
Currently, Sachin Bordoloi is missing.
Following the body’s recovery, the locals informed the Gohpur police.
An investigation into the incident has launched.
