Guwahati, 23rd June: The body of 21-year-old Dhrubajyoti Kalita was recovered from the Aradonga River at the Mawkhrang Picnic spot on Sunday, June 23. This followed a joint search operation conducted by the Meghalaya Police and the Search & Rescue Team (SRT) of Meghalaya.
Kalita, a resident of Milanpur village in Chayagaon PS, Kamrup district, was visiting the popular picnic destination with four friends on Saturday. The group decided to bathe in the Aradonga River when Kalita went missing.
An immediate search operation was launched by police and rescue teams, culminating in the recovery of Kalita’s body the following day. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding his disappearance to determine if there were any factors that contributed to this tragic incident.
