Guwahati: The body of a missing driver, who has been missing for 17 days, was recovered from Bongalmari Ghat in Dhemaji district of Assam on Saturday.
The deceased identified as Bipul Buragohain.
According to reports, the body of Buragohain was recovered along with his car from the ghat near Dhemaji town.
State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) along with Dhemaji Police in a combined rescue operation since this morning helped retrieve the body along with the car.
It may be mentioned that Bipul Buragohain, a driver of an Alto 800 – AS 22 H-2356 had gone missing on November 23.
Reportedly, he was last seen at the Dhemaji taxi stand before he was declared missing.
His family members had lodged a missing report at the police station.
Notably, a woman from the village of Lakhtokia had already been arrested by the Dhemaji Police in connection with the disappearance of Buragohain.
On the other hand, the family members of Buragohain have alleged that the entire incident is a pre-planned murder.
