Bomb Explosion at Manipur Minister Khasim Vashum’s Residence in Ukhrul

Northeast Desk, 15th September: A bomb exploded inside the residence of Manipur Minister Khasim Vashum in Hamleikhong, Ukhrul, on the night of September 14. Vashum, who is the Minister of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry and Transport and a prominent member of the Naga People’s Front (NPF), was not at home during the blast.

The explosion occurred at approximately 8:40 p.m., according to police sources. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported, though the incident has raised serious concerns about the safety of political figures in Manipur.

Law enforcement authorities, including the Ukhrul police, swiftly arrived at the scene to investigate the situation. As of now, the motive behind the attack remains unclear, and a detailed inquiry is underway to assess the circumstances surrounding the explosion.
