Border Clash Between Assam Police & Meghalaya, 4 Killed

Guwahati: Few Meghalayans engaged in fighting with Assam police and forest guards close to the boundary between the two states on Tuesday morning.

According to reports, the police and forest guards opened fire on the crowd killing three individuals in order to manage the situation.

In the altercation, another forest worker named Vidyasingh Lekthe was also killed.

It should be noted that the Assam-Meghalaya border dispute has had an effect on a number of lives.

Meghalaya and Assam have so far started a second round of negotiations to settle six areas of disagreement regarding their shared border.
