Border Security Forces Intercept Multiple Illegal Crossings in Meghalaya
Shillong: In a recent operation conducted on March 18th, troops from the Border Security Force (BSF) Meghalaya apprehended three Bangladeshi citizens within the West Garo Hills District.
The detention was executed by the 22nd Battalion following the receipt of precise intelligence concerning illicit border crossings. As of now, authorities have refrained from disclosing the identities of the individuals detained or the potential motives behind their unauthorised entry into Indian territory.
Prior to this incident, another operation, orchestrated by the 50th Battalion BSF Meghalaya in collaboration with local law enforcement, resulted in the interception of a vehicle in the South West Garo Hills district. During this operation, four Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended, alongside an Indian auto driver, who were attempting to traverse the international border without legal authorization.
The individuals detained in this earlier operation, along with the vehicle seized, were subsequently transferred to the Mehenderganj Police Station for continued investigation and the initiation of appropriate legal actions.
