Border Security in Assam Under Scrutiny Amid Alleged Incursions by Bangladeshi Miscreants
Assam: Concerns over security along the India-Bangladesh border have escalated following allegations of repeated incursions by Bangladeshi miscreants in Assam’s Sribhumi district.
Reports indicate that Hindu-majority areas, such as Brahman Shasan and Nayagram, have been frequent targets of criminal activities, sparking fear and frustration among locals.
In a recent incident, eight cows were stolen from the homes of three residents in a single night. Although local residents swiftly acted to recover the stolen cattle, their attempts to apprehend the culprits were thwarted when the miscreants brandished sharp weapons and issued threats, forcing them to retreat.
Despite the deployment of border security forces in the region, locals are raising serious concerns about the repeated breaches. “How are these individuals able to infiltrate so easily?” questioned a worried resident, reflecting the community’s growing frustration. Many are calling for more stringent measures to safeguard their lives and property, emphasizing the urgent need for heightened vigilance and accountability.
These incidents have cast a spotlight on the effectiveness of border security protocols, with demands for stronger enforcement and a proactive approach to deter such incursions. The situation underscores the pressing need for coordinated efforts to ensure the safety and stability of border communities.
