Brazen Thief Steals Lights from Nilachal Flyover in Guwahati

Guwahati, 21st September: In a shocking incident of theft, a daring bike-borne thief targeted Guwahati’s recently inaugurated Nilachal flyover, making off with numerous lights that adorned the structure.

The Nilachal flyover, a symbol of modern engineering and architecture, was inaugurated just last month and featured state-of-the-art lighting installations that illuminated the structure beautifully during the night. The audacious theft left both local residents and authorities astounded.

The entire incident was captured on video by a resident living adjacent to the flyover. The footage depicts the thief skillfully dismounting a light fixture and loading it onto his motorcycle.

Reports suggest that the contractor responsible for the flyover’s construction had initially installed 1,300 lights during its inauguration. Shockingly, 600 of these lights have already been stolen. Subsequent to these thefts, a complaint was filed, leading to the arrest of three suspected thieves by the police.

However, this recent act of larceny serves as a stark reminder that more such thieves remain at large, posing a significant challenge to the authorities. Efforts to apprehend and curb their activities are ongoing.
