Guwahati: Assam police detained one person in connection with cattle smuggling in Jorhat.
The Palibar police seized one truck full of illegal cattle with the registration number AS02CC O793 while they were on their way to slaughterhouses across borders. The driver of the truck identified as Ijajul Hoque was detained by the officials for interrogation.
The accused was arrested while he was on the way to slaughterhouses across borders. The police recovered around 14 cattle from the accused.
Further investigation is underway.
