Breakthrough in Kidnap and Murder Case: Prime Accused Arrested

Guwahati, 10th August: In a significant breakthrough, the Guwahati Police have arrested the prime accused in the horrifying incident of the kidnapping and murder of a 10th standard student in the city’s Bonda area. The arrest of Abhishek Baruah has shed light on the disturbing case, providing crucial leads for the ongoing investigation, according to reports that emerged on Thursday.

In connection with the incident, the police detained Abhishek Baruah, who operated a small shop on the sidewalk in the Hatigaon neighbourhood of Guwahati. The victim, a class 10 student of a city school, was tragically kidnapped on Tuesday by the accused, who then took him to the outskirts of Guwahati in Bonda.

Authorities have revealed that the victim’s body was discovered deep within a forest area in a half-naked state. The preliminary assessment suggests that he was fatally stabbed and his body was subsequently disposed of in a remote location.

The accused, Abhishek Baruah, reportedly had some familiarity with the victim, as they were both residents of the same area. It’s believed that they knew each other for an extended period of time.

Abhishek sought a ransom of Rs 7 lakhs during the kidnapping in order to secure the victim’s release. However, the situation took a tragic turn when the victim’s lifeless body was found in Bonda late on Wednesday.

The swift action by the Guwahati Police led to the apprehension of the prime accused, Abhishek Baruah, last night itself. Additionally, the Crime Branch of Guwahati Police meticulously examined the crime scene in Hatigaon, further intensifying their efforts to uncover the truth behind this harrowing incident.

The arrest brings some relief to the community and the victim’s family, as authorities work to bring justice and clarity to this disturbing case.
