Guwahati: In a tragic incident, three people were killed among which was a child and several other injured in an explosion at a brick kiln in Cachar district of Assam on Friday.
The incident occurred at Kalain town, 28 kilometers from district headquarters Silchar in the Cachar district.
According to reports, the explosion took place inside a chimney of the kiln.
Apart from the causalities, there were 20 others who were critically injured in the major explosion.
It has also come to light that the brick kiln was inaugurated today.
Meanwhile, the injured were immediately rushed to Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH).
The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
