Guwahati: In a tragic incident, a bride died of a heart attack during the wedding rituals at the Bhagwaneshwar Mahadev Temple in the Subhashnagar area of Bhavanagar, Gujrat.
According to reports, the deceased have been identified as Hetal who is a daughter of Jinabhai Rathore.
Hetal was marrying Vishal, the son of Ranabhai Butabhai Algotar of Nari village.
Hetal abruptly felt lightheaded and fainted during the wedding rituals which caused the celebrations interrupted. She was taken to a local hospital where she was later declared dead due to heart attack.
The family chose to go ahead with the wedding even after her sudden death. They decided to proceed with the wedding with her younger sister as the bride.
Hetal’s deadbody was kept in cold storage throughout the ceremony while the wedding rituals went on.
Maldhari Samaj leader and Bhavnagar city corporator Laxmanbhai Rathore offered his condolences and characterized the incident as extremely sad.
He added that despite their shock and sorrow, the family had been persuaded by society to set an example and not abandon the bridegroom and his family without anything.
