British PM faces charges for breaking Covid-19 protocol
Guwahati: The Prime Minister of British Boris Johnson was facing new charges on Tuesday for breaking Covid lockdown restrictions by attending a surprise birthday party in Downing Street during a time when social gatherings were prohibited inside the residence.
Johnson is attempting to shore up his premiership after claiming that he and his staff took over the reins of the British state during the worst pandemic in a century. Johnson won the largest Conservative majority in more than 30 years in 2019. The centre was visited.
Meanwhile, Johnson’s approval ratings have been harmed by revelations such as rowdy parties in Downing Street, suitcases of supermarket wine, broken children’s swings, wine fridges, and jokes by employees about presenting such parties to media.
It may be mentioned that Johnson celebrated his birthday on June 19 with a surprise party, according to ITV. ITV said that 30 individuals attended the event, which took place at No. 10’s cabinet room, office, and apartment.
