BSF ADG Ravi Gandhi Reviews Border Security Measures Along Indo-Bangladesh Frontier
Additional Director General Ravi Gandhi of the Border Security Force (BSF) Eastern Command conducted an extensive review of operational preparedness along the Indo-Bangladesh border during a four-day visit to the BSF Guwahati Frontier.
Gandhi inspected riverine border outposts situated on char lands in the Brahmaputra and evaluated the Comprehensive Integrated Border Management System (CIBMS). This advanced surveillance technology is designed to control cross-border crimes and provide continuous monitoring.
The review included meetings with field commanders to assess current security situations and evaluate border domination strategies. Gandhi also engaged with Assam’s Director General of Police and the Chief Commissioner for Rights to Public Service to discuss coordination on border management.
This visit follows recent concerns raised by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma regarding potential illegal infiltration from Bangladesh amid ongoing unrest in the neighboring country. Sarma emphasized the need to secure the borders to prevent any adverse impact from the situation across the border.
Gandhi praised the Guwahati Frontier’s efforts in maintaining border security and underscored the importance of sustained vigilance in addressing regional challenges.
