BSF and Local Police Foil Attempted Border Infiltration in Meghalaya
Pynursla, Meghalaya: In a coordinated operation on November 1, 2024, the Border Security Force (BSF) of Meghalaya, alongside local police, successfully apprehended two Bangladeshi nationals attempting to illegally cross into Indian territory.
The operation was initiated following credible intelligence regarding unauthorized crossings in the East Khasi Hills District.
Responding promptly, the 4th Battalion BSF alerted the Pynursla Police Station to assist in the operation.
The joint forces intercepted a Wagon R vehicle (Registration No. ML-05 AC 1946) on National Highway 40 near Pynursla. Upon conducting a thorough search of the vehicle, they discovered the two Bangladeshi nationals along with an Indian taxi driver, who is suspected of facilitating their illegal entry into India.
The operation highlights the ongoing vigilance and dedication of the BSF and local law enforcement agencies in securing the international border and preventing unauthorized immigration.
All apprehended individuals, along with the seized vehicle, were handed over to the Pynursla Police Station for further investigation and necessary legal action. The successful operation reinforces the commitment of Indian security forces to maintain border integrity and uphold the law.
