BSF and Security Agencies Foil Infiltration Attempt in Tripura, Apprehend Two Bangladeshi Nationals
Agartala: In a joint operation, the Border Security Force (BSF), in collaboration with Agartala Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF), and intelligence agencies, successfully prevented an infiltration attempt by apprehending two Bangladeshi nationals in Agartala, Tripura.
The individuals, identified as Gias Uddin (26) and Moin Uddin (25), were detained at the Agartala Railway Station on Thursday following confidential intelligence inputs.
According to officials, the detainees disclosed during initial questioning that they were headed to Kolkata.
Authorities have registered a case at the Agartala GRP Police Station, and detailed interrogations are underway to uncover any potential involvement of additional individuals.
The two detainees will be presented before the court, as per an official release.
This incident comes a day after the BSF thwarted another illegal border crossing at the Meghalaya border, where six Bangladeshi nationals were arrested in East Jaintia Hills.
Investigations revealed that these individuals had been working as domestic help in Bangalore for several months and were attempting to return to Bangladesh.
In light of these developments, the BSF has intensified security measures along the India-Bangladesh border through a 10-day “OPS Alert” exercise. This heightened vigilance is part of preparations for the 76th Republic Day celebrations, considering the evolving situation in Bangladesh.
The BSF and other security agencies remain committed to ensuring the integrity of the border and preventing illegal activities. Investigations into both cases are ongoing.
