BSF Apprehends Bangladeshi National and Three Rohingya Migrants in Tripura, Heightened Vigilance on Border Continues
Agartala: The Border Security Force (BSF) in Tripura detained a Bangladeshi national and three Rohingyas in two separate operations, highlighting ongoing vigilance against infiltration along the border.
According to a BSF press release, the Bangladeshi national was apprehended by troops from BOP Kamlasagar in Sepahijala district around 12:30 p.m. The individual is identified as a resident of Cumilla district in Bangladesh.
In a separate operation, BSF personnel in the Panisagar Sector detained three Rohingya migrants, including two men and one woman, suspected of entering the country illegally.
Following these apprehensions, an investigation is underway, with preliminary questioning in progress. BSF officials affirmed their commitment to maintaining strict border security to prevent illegal entry and infiltration.
The press release also referenced a recent meeting between Maharani Kriti Singh Debbarma, MP for the Tripura East Lok Sabha constituency, and BSF officials. During the meeting, officials reported that the BSF has detained a total of 623 Bangladeshi and Rohingya nationals, along with 52 touts from Tripura, up to November 9 this year.
In an official statement, the BSF confirmed that MP Maharani Kriti Singh Debbarma visited the BSF Headquarters at Salbagan, Agartala, to review ongoing efforts in border security and migrant apprehensions.
