BSF & BGB Exchange Sweets On Diwali
Guwahati: The Border Security Force (BSF) and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) shared sweets in honour of Diwali along the India-Bangladesh border on Sunday.
The BSF and BGB personnel exchanged sweets at Sutarkandi BOP, which is close to Karimganj in Assam along the international boundary.
These occasions enhance the bonds already in place by demonstrating the camaraderie between the two nations and their border guards units.
A celebration of lights, Diwali is one of the most important holidays in India.
The spiritual “winning of light over darkness, good over evil and wisdom over ignorance” is symbolised by Diwali.
Legend has it that on this day, Lord Ram, along with his wife Sita and brother Lakshman, returned to their home country of Ayodhya after conquering Ravan in Lanka and serving a 14-year exile. Lakshmi, the goddess of prosperity, is also frequently linked to this occasion.
