BSF-BGB Regional Meeting From Dec 7 In Tripura
Guwahati: A regional conference between the Border Security Force (BSF) and its Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) counterpart from Bangladesh will take place beginning on December 7 in Agartala of Tripura.
During the three-day BSF-BGB conference in Tripura, various significant border-related problems will be covered.
Officers from the BSF’s Tripura, Mizoram, and Meghalaya frontiers with the rank of inspector general (IG) will attend the meeting.
On the other hand, the BGB will be represented by their regional commanders for the south-east and north-south.
“All the border issues – border patrolling, smuggling, infiltration and barbed wire fencing – are expected to come up for discussion in the three-day conference. This is a routine exercise,” a BSF official told PTI.
The authorities are very concerned about the smuggling of illegal goods, particularly drugs, from Bangladesh through the northeastern state of Tripura.
