BSF Chief Reviews Security Measures Along Indo-Bangladesh Border Amid Ongoing Challenges

Assam: The Director General of the Border Security Force (BSF), Daljit Singh Chaudhry, conducted a one-day visit to the BSF Guwahati Frontier, where he reviewed the security situation and operational preparedness along the Indo-Bangladesh international border.

During the visit, he was briefed by Sanjay Gaur, Inspector General of BSF Guwahati Frontier, and senior officers about the ongoing efforts to address security challenges along the border, particularly in relation to trans-border crimes.

Chaudhry commended the dedication and tireless efforts of the BSF personnel, acknowledging their role in maintaining border security and combating illegal activities. He particularly praised the BSF Guwahati Frontier’s proactive steps to curb cross-border crimes, which have become more concerning due to the ongoing unrest in Bangladesh.

In his address, the Director General emphasized the BSF’s unwavering commitment to national security and urged all personnel to remain vigilant. He called on them to continue their exemplary work in upholding the integrity of the Indo-Bangladesh border, especially given the challenges posed by the instability in Bangladesh.

To strengthen security measures, the BSF has ramped up surveillance along unfinished stretches of the border to prevent illegal infiltration, smuggling, and human trafficking. Despite seasonal challenges, such as fog and heavy rainfall that hinder border monitoring, the BSF has implemented advanced technologies, including CCTV cameras and sensors, to bolster detection capabilities.

With personnel working around the clock, the BSF continues to ensure the security and safety of the nation’s borders in the face of evolving challenges.
