BSF Foils Major Smuggling Attempts Along Tripura’s Indo-Bangladesh Border, Seizes Contraband Worth Over Rs 15 Lakhs
Tripura – Border Security Force (BSF) personnel in Tripura have successfully thwarted multiple attempts to smuggle goods across the Indo-Bangladesh border, seizing a significant haul of contraband.
The operations, conducted across various border locations, resulted in the recovery of items including Phensedyl cough syrup, a commonly abused intoxicant, along with sugar, liquor, clothing, and medicines. The total value of the seized goods is estimated to be Rs 15,65,619.
In addition to the contraband, BSF troops also rescued cattle, highlighting the ongoing problem of livestock smuggling in the region.
These successful interceptions underscore the persistent challenges faced by border security forces in curbing illegal trade and cross-border criminal activities along the porous Indo-Bangladesh border.
The BSF Tripura remains committed to maintaining heightened vigilance and conducting regular operations to prevent such illicit activities.
