BSF Foils Major Smuggling Operation in Tripura, Recovers Mobile Phone Displays Worth Rs 26.35 Lakh
Agartala: Border Security Force (BSF) personnel conducted a successful operation near Boxanagar along the India-Bangladesh border in Tripura, halting a significant smuggling attempt. The operation resulted in the recovery of nearly 2,000 mobile phone displays valued at Rs 26.35 lakh.
This achievement marks one of several recent successes by BSF Tripura Frontier, which has also intercepted multiple smuggling attempts of narcotics and essential commodities. Additional seizures included ganja, sugar, and rice, with the total value of these secondary confiscations reaching Rs 7.26 lakh.
The mobile displays were discovered during a routine patrol, highlighting the growing trend of electronics smuggling across the porous border. This operation demonstrates the BSF’s vigilance and commitment to combating smuggling activities along the India-Bangladesh border.
