Agartala: In a significant crackdown on narcotics smuggling, the Border Security Force (BSF) in Tripura apprehended a Bangladeshi smuggler and seized 4,000 Yaba tablets valued at Rs 80 lakh on October 29.
The BSF personnel acted swiftly on specific intelligence to thwart the smuggling attempt.
This successful operation follows another recent crackdown by the BSF and Tripura Police, where 11 Bangladeshi nationals and an Indian tout were arrested, and Yaba tablets worth Rs 70 lakh were seized in two separate operations near the Indo-Bangladesh border in the Sepahijala district.
Earlier on October 27, security forces detained 15 individuals, including children, in two separate operations along the India-Bangladesh border in Tripura.
Nine Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended at Agartala Railway Station during a routine check by the BSF’s Mobile Check Post. The suspects, who were recently released on bail, admitted to planning a permanent settlement in Kolkata.
