BSF Foils Smuggling Attempt, Rescues Cattle in Tripura
Agartala: In a swift operation, the Border Security Force (BSF) in Tripura has dealt a significant blow to cross-border smuggling activities. The vigilant troops successfully intercepted a consignment of contraband worth over Rs 2.80 lakh and rescued several cattle being illegally trafficked.
Acting on credible intelligence, BSF personnel deployed along the Indo-Bangladesh border sprung into action. During a meticulous search, they apprehended a group of smugglers attempting to transport the contraband across the border. The seized items, valued at Rs 2,88,063, included a variety of goods prohibited under Indian customs laws.
Simultaneously, the BSF also rescued a number of cattle that were being smuggled out of India. The timely intervention by the security forces prevented these animals from falling into the hands of illegal traffickers.
The successful operation highlights the BSF’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding India’s borders and thwarting illicit activities. The force has intensified its surveillance and patrolling efforts to curb cross-border smuggling and cattle trafficking, which pose a serious threat to the nation’s economy and security.
