BSF in Meghalaya Observes Vigilance Awareness Week, Emphasizes Integrity and Community Engagement

Shillong: The Border Security Force (BSF) in Meghalaya launched Vigilance Awareness Week on Monday, October 28, with Deputy Inspector General Inder Dev Singh leading personnel in an integrity pledge at the frontier headquarters.

This year’s theme, “Culture of Integrity for Nation’s Prosperity,” highlights the importance of anti-corruption initiatives, particularly in sensitive border areas.

Throughout the week, BSF Meghalaya plans to engage both personnel and local communities with a variety of activities, including debate and essay competitions aimed at fostering awareness and encouraging ethical practices.

The BSF also intends to distribute informational materials, empowering residents to identify and report corruption.

The initiative reflects the BSF’s commitment to fortifying trust and security along the India-Bangladesh border, a region where smuggling and other illegal activities persist. BSF officials stressed the importance of community involvement in their vigilance efforts, noting that an informed and engaged public is essential for effective border management and upholding national security.
