BSF Meghalaya Seizes Foreign Currency and Apprehends Indian National Near Indo-Bangladesh Border
Shillong: The Border Security Force (BSF) in Meghalaya apprehended an Indian national near the Indo-Bangladesh border in East Khasi Hills district, seizing a substantial amount of foreign currency.
Acting on specific intelligence, BSF personnel launched an operation on January 15, which led to the arrest. The individual was found carrying 3,66,850 Bangladeshi Taka (BDT) along with ₹1,15,510 in Indian currency.
This operation is part of the BSF’s ongoing mission to secure the international border and clamp down on illegal activities. Earlier in the week, the BSF Meghalaya had also detained four Bangladeshi nationals and three Indian touts near the international border in the same district.
These operations underscore the tireless efforts of the BSF to ensure border security and prevent cross-border crimes. The recent arrests and seizures highlight the dedication of the personnel in safeguarding the integrity of the Indo-Bangladesh border.
