BSF Nabs Six, Including Three Bangladeshi Nationals in Meghalaya’s West Jaintia Hills

Northeast Desk, 21st August: In a decisive operation, the Border Security Force (BSF) apprehended six individuals, including three Bangladeshi nationals, in Meghalaya’s West Jaintia Hills district. The arrests took place in Muktapur village, a location near the India-Bangladesh border, following intelligence inputs that led BSF troopers to act swiftly.

The operation, which resulted in the detention of three illegal Bangladeshi migrants along with their three Indian accomplices, comes amid heightened security along the 443 km stretch of border that Meghalaya shares with Bangladesh. The BSF has intensified surveillance efforts in response to ongoing political unrest in the neighboring country, aiming to curb illegal crossings and bolster national security.

The arrested individuals have been handed over to the local police for further legal proceedings. To maintain order and security, a night curfew remains enforced along the entire border region. This operation underscores the BSF’s commitment to securing India’s borders and preventing unlawful activities in the region.
