BSF Personnel Tragically Killed by Wild Elephant on Indo-Bangladesh Border

Northeast Desk, 27th June: A tragic incident unfolded on the Indo-Bangladesh border in Meghalaya’s West Garo Hills district, where a wild elephant fatally trampled a Border Security Force (BSF) personnel on June 26.

The victim, identified as Sub-Inspector Rajbir Singh of the No. 100 Battalion BSF, was attacked by the elephant while at the BSF camp. Preliminary reports indicate that despite the sudden and aggressive nature of the attack, Singh was fatally injured.

Fortunately, other BSF personnel present at the camp managed to escape harm, narrowly avoiding the aggressive elephant.

Authorities are currently investigating the incident, and further details are awaited as the situation develops.

This tragic event serves as a reminder of the risks faced by security personnel stationed in wildlife-rich border areas, highlighting the unpredictable nature of interactions between humans and wild animals in such regions.
