BSF Seizes Medicines Worth Rs 3 Lakh at India-Bangladesh Border in Meghalaya
Northeast Desk, 19th July: In a significant haul, Border Security Force (BSF) troops from the 172 Battalion in Meghalaya seized medicines worth over Rs 3 lakh on July 18, preventing their smuggling into Bangladesh. Acting on a tip-off, the BSF personnel launched an operation near the international border in East Jaintia Hills district, intercepting the contraband consignment.
This seizure comes on the heels of a similar operation on July 15, where BSF troops in the same district detained a Bangladeshi national attempting to smuggle liquor across the border. The back-to-back successes demonstrate the BSF’s vigilance and commitment to securing the India-Bangladesh border in Meghalaya.
