Burmese arecanut seized by Mizoram Police in Bilkhawthlir

Northeast Desk, 15th January: A massive quantity of foreign arecanut was seized by Mizoram Police in the Bilkhawthlir area on the morning of January 14.

Acting on a tip-off, Mizoram Police conducted a successful operation in the area.

Upon searching, a total of 90 bags loaded onto Truck registration number AS-11-CC-2202 were intercepted, leading to the arrest of both the truck driver and the owner of the illicit goods.

In a parallel incident, Serchhip SP and his team displayed vigilance by intercepting and seizing seven trucks transporting foreign areca nut.

Promptly responding to received information, the Serchhip SP and the team swiftly acted, making arrests near Thentlang at approximately 7:30 pm.

Demonstrating efficiency, Serchhip SP and his team reached the location and apprehended the suspects in the Thentlang area later that evening.

These coordinated efforts underscore the commitment of Mizoram Police to curb illegal activities and maintain law and order.
