Bus Carrying Madhya Pradesh Police Personnel Overturns in Chhattisgarh, 10 Injured

National Desk, 21st April: A bus transporting Madhya Pradesh police personnel for poll duty met with an unfortunate accident in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar district on Sunday, leaving at least 10 individuals injured, as per reports.

Initially, confusion arose regarding the identity of the injured personnel, with a local police official initially stating they were from the CRPF. However, a senior police official from Jagdalpur later clarified that they were, in fact, from the Madhya Pradesh police. The incident occurred near Raikot village on the Geedam-Jagdalpur road, within the jurisdiction of the Geedam police station.

The mishap unfolded as the bus, carrying 36 Madhya Pradesh police personnel, veered off the road and overturned while the driver attempted to avoid a sudden appearance of cattle on the road.

Following the accident, the injured personnel were swiftly transported to a medical college at Dimrapal in Jagdalpur for treatment. While five of the injured police personnel were admitted to the hospital for further care, the remaining individuals were discharged after receiving initial medical attention.
