Bus-Truck Collision at Kaliabor, 19 Injured and 1 Dead

Guwahati, 16 June: As many as 19 people were injured and one person was killed in a head-on collision between a truck and a bus in Nagaon district of Assam.

The incident was reported at Hatbor near Kaliabor town on Thursday night. Unfortunately, the truck driver died on spot.

According to reports, the bus was en route Golaghat from Guwahati city when the tragic incident occurred.

Notably, local police arrived at the spot immediately to assess the situation. The injured individuals were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Last month, at least seven students from Assam Engineering College (AEC) were killed that took place in Jalukbari area of Guwahati.

According to reports, the students were travelling in a Scorpio car when the driver lost control and hit a divider and then crashed into a Bolero DI pick-up van that was parked on the Jalukbari Flyover road.

The students who have been killed in the accident are: Arindam Bhowal and Niyor Deka from Guwahati, Kaushik Mohan from Sivasagar, Upangshu Sarmah from Nagaon, Raj Kiran Bhuyan from Majuli, Emon Barua from Dibrugarh, Kaushik Baruah from Mangaldoi

As per the initial information received, ten persons were there inside the vehicle when the accident took place.

Out of the ten students seven died on spot and three others were taken to Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in critical condition.
