Cachar Administration Increases Vigilance in Assam Amid Covid-19 Surge

Guwahati: The Cachar district administration in Assam has increased vigilance to verify district readiness against the pandemic amid surge in Covid-19 cases across the country.

The administration is taking proactive measures to assess the resources available to combat the virus’s spread.

Health officials reported that a simulated drill is being conducted beforehand at all of the district’s healthcare facilities in accordance with instructions from the state administration.

The simulated drill was conducted as a result of Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya’s announcement of a national mock drill in light of the new BF.7 Omicron sub type.

The mock drill is being conducted in anticipation of a Covid outbreak in the nation as a result of a spike in instances of the disease being reported in China and other nations.

The Union Ministry of Health recommended States to greatly boost genome sequencing on December 20. A high-level meeting was also presided over by the Union Health Minister on December 21 to examine the COVID-19 situation and the public health system’s readiness for COVID-19 surveillance, containment, and management.
