Cannabis Worth Rs 2 Crore Seized in Tripura, 2 Held
Guwahati: Assam Rifles troopers recovered 800 kg of marijuana in Sidhai under West District of Tripura on Sunday.
According to reports, the cannabis were hidden in the backyard of Biplab Santal of Munda Para.
Reportedly, there was a significant amount of illegally processed marijuana hidden in Hezamara village, the Agartala Battalion of Assam Rifles launched a quick operation that resulted in the seizure of 800 kg of cannabis (ganja) after a thorough search of the area.
According to the State Police, the value of the marijuana that was seized is believed to be worth Rs 2.4 crore. The seized marijuana (ganja) has been handed over to the Sidhai Police Station and a FIR has been filed against the person from whom the marijuana was recovered.
In connection with this case, two other people Akash Rabi and Chitranjan Munda were also taken into custody.
