Agartala: Tripura Police made a significant drug bust on Thursday, arresting two individuals and seizing cannabis worth Rs 25 lakh in Ambassa, Dhalai District.
Acting on a tip-off, police intercepted a Bolero vehicle suspected of transporting a large quantity of drugs.
Upon inspection, officers discovered 20 packets of cannabis concealed within a secret compartment of the vehicle. The total weight of the seized contraband was 189 kg.
The arrested individuals, identified as Samir Rabi Das, the driver, and his assistant Joydip Chowdhury, both residents of Sepahijala District, are currently under police custody. The Ambassa Police Station is investigating the matter further.
