Celebrated Art Director Nitin Desai Dies by Suicide, Shocking Bollywood Industry

National Desk, 2nd August: In a tragic loss to the film industry, renowned art director Nitin Chandrakant Desai, known for his exceptional work in iconic films like ‘Lagaan’ and ‘Jodha Akbar’, passed away in a heart-wrenching suicide at his studio in Maharashtra.

Desai’s lifeless body was discovered by studio workers at ND Studios, the studio he owned, in Karjat during the early hours of Wednesday.

Raigar SP stated, “We discovered the body of art director Nitin Desai hanging at his Karjat studio. A set worker told police of the incident. When the cops arrived at the studio, we discovered his body hanging. We are looking into the situation further to determine all factors.”

MLA Mahesh Baldi, speaking about possible reasons behind Desai’s tragic decision, shared, “When we met a month ago, he informed me he was in financial trouble. At first glance, this appears to be the only cause for his suicide. He had assured me that new films were on the way, but it appeared that only TV episodes were being shot at ND studios, which may not have helped his situation.”
