Central Panel Reviews Progress of Arunachal Pradesh’s Film and Television Institute
Itanagar: A high-level Central panel recently met with Arunachal Pradesh Chief Secretary Manish Gupta to discuss the advancement of the upcoming Film and Television Institute (FTI) at Jote, near Itanagar.
This institute, once established, will become the third of its kind in India, joining the prestigious FTII-Pune and SRFTI-Kolkata.
The meeting delved into various crucial aspects of the institute, including the required infrastructure, logistical and administrative support from the state government, and its potential impact on local and regional development.
Chief Secretary Gupta assured the panel of the state government’s full cooperation in accelerating the institute’s development.
The meeting was also attended by State Information and Public Relations Secretary Nyali Ete and Papum Pare’s Deputy Commissioner Bomji Jinken.
Information and Broadcasting Ministry’s Director General of Northeast Zone K Satish Nambudiripad, leading the central delegation, subsequently met with DGP Anand Mohan.
SRFTI-Kolkata’s Director Samiran Dutta, Registrar Sushrut Sharma, and FTI-Jote faculty member Bishnu Dev Halder accompanied Nambudiripad.
FTI-Jote is envisioned as a center of excellence, offering cutting-edge facilities and specialized programs to cultivate aspiring filmmakers and media professionals.
This initiative underscores the Central government’s dedication to fostering inclusive growth and empowering the youth of the Northeast by providing them with world-class education and training in the field of media and entertainment.
