Centre to Slash LPG Gas Cylinder Prices By Rs 200 From August 30

National Desk, 29th August: The Center is proposing a decrease in the cost of cooking gas cylinders starting on August 30 as potential relief for customers. The price of cooking gas cylinders is reportedly set to be reduced by much to Rs 200 per cylinder.

Earlier, commercial Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) prices were revised by Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs), while home cooking gas prices remained the same. This modification took effect on August 1 and featured a sizable decrease of Rs 99.75 for commercial 19-kilogram LPG gas cylinders.

As a result, Delhi’s current retail selling price for a 19-kilogram commercial LPG cylinder is Rs 1,680.

Since March 1 of this year, the price of 14.2 kilogram LPG cooking gas cylinders for home use has not altered. After two price increases in May, oil companies raised the price of home LPG cylinders by Rs 50 in July.
Domestic LPG cylinders are priced at Rs 1,103, Rs 1,129, Rs 1,102.50, and Rs 1,118.50, correspondingly, in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Chennai.

On the first of every month, prices for LPG cylinders for domestic and commercial use are revised. Due to state-specific taxes and restrictions, state-run OMCs often modify LPG pricing on the first of every month.
